Lamaze
Launches Campaign Urging Women to Push for Better Care
What do routine maternity care practices like early induction,
confinement to bed and the overuse of cesarean surgery have in common?
They are all increasingly applied practices that can actually make it more
difficult to have a safe and healthy birth. Lamaze is launching a new
campaign to encourage women to speak up and push for better care for themselves
and their babies, and to spotlight the role that childbirth education has in
equipping women with the information they need to be active partners in their
care.
WHAT: Lamaze International launches the “Push for Your
Baby” Campaign to give expectant parents the tools they need to push for the
safest, healthiest birth possible.

resource for information about what to expect and what choices are available
during the childbearing years. Lamaze education and practices are based
on the best and most current medical evidence available. Working closely
with their families, health care providers and Lamaze educators, millions of
pregnant women have achieved their desired childbirth outcomes using Lamaze
